As seen in this Nike LeBron 12 prototype, things could have been dramatically different.Rather than the Hyperposite-overlaid upper comprised of an equitable, unchanging mesh — that being the composition of the actual LeBron 12 — the prototype features a different build altogether. Several layers of open mesh are stacked together through the toe, transitioning to a thinner, more solid construction at the midfoot and heel. The ‘Posite overlays are entirely altered, looking more like a rubberized synthetic than . . . well, Posite.Another thing worth noting: It looks like LeBron and Nike Basketball knew what kind of outsole and cushioning they wanted from day one. The Nike LeBron 12 prototype’s outsole is virtually identical to that of the GR LeBron 12.Photo via wowmeeddie.Previous story Nike Air Max 93 CITRUS | Another LookNext story Air Jordan XI Legend Blue | Detailed PhotosRelated PostsNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningApril 28, 2015Nike LeBron 12 Low “Entourage” Release NearsApril 27, 2015Nike LeBron 12 EXT “Rubber City” Release DateApril 24, 2015Nike LeBron 12 Low “Entourage” | In DetailApril 23, 2015FacebookSearch NikeBlog.comRecent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!Recent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!MIssionTo provide the most up to date news, images, and opinions on today's top sneaker company.FIND ARTICLESHomeAboutAdvertise on NBContactPrivacyTwitterFacebookRSSNikeBlog.com is not affiliated with the Nike, Inc. brand in any way, shape, or form. Not sure how these are playing all over the blogosphere but, while the first preview had the shoe looking decent, this particular shot has upped them to dropped jaw status in this writer’s opinion. Look for these to hit Miami-area retailers on October 16th and wind up on NikeStore on November 12th. Quick reminder for you, as we haven’t really discussed this shoe for a few weeks and you’re not likely to forgive yourself if you miss it. The Nike LeBron X Cutting Jade release date is set for tomorrow, November 10th, bringing a second, much wider launch to arguably the 10’s best colorway thus far. Soft green covers the Hyperfuse upper, with black and red accenting offering contrast and a unique Asian-influenced inner-lining. Expect a QUICK sell-out.Nike LeBron XTourmaline/University Red-FiberglassStyle #: 541100-30310 November 2012$180
