Nicknames are still all too prevalent and none too concrete — Miami vs Akron (not vice versa), Hardwood Classic, Knicks — but the Nike LeBron 11 Orange/Blue is back again today and still wildly, conspicuously attractive.Sporting a color-blocking philosophy that’s becoming increasingly common on the XI — monochromatic coloring, namely — the shoe sets orange Hyperposite piecing on matching Hyperfuse and mesh, with contrast blue on the Swoosh, laces and inner-lining.We’ll get a release date for you someday, but not today. Here’s the first relatively expansive preview of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 “Sprite” —release date still unannounced. The shoe combines a vibrant blue upper with volt on the inner-lining, accents, outsole and in the air pocket, with a nice contrast added from the white midsole and Swoosh. Check out a handful of looks under the cut and stick with NikeBlog for release information whenever it becomes available. You know how some shoes get really vague, only slightly fitting (if at all) nicknames? (Because every shoe has to have a nickname, for some reason.)The Air Jordan 7 Raptor for example, which earned the paleontological moniker despite only having a color or two in common with the eponymous Toronto hoops franchise, a franchise that didn’t even exist when the shoe debuted. Or, shudder, the “Spider-man” Foamposite Pro, one of the true all-timers in the annals of terrible sobriquets. Well, the Nike LeBron 11 EXT King’s Crown is not one of those shoes.Sure, there’s no actual affiliation with King Lear, or the headgear of King Hippo, for that matter. But the shoe’s beautifully iridescent piecing, which shifts color as the viewing-angle changes and playfully pops against a black molded suede upper, actually looks like a crown. A lot. And it’s King James’s shoe.Stay tuned for release info and check out plenty of shots below, while you thank everything you believe in this didn’t get nicknamed the “C-3PO,” or some such nonsense.Nike LeBron 11 EXT QS“King’s Crown”Style #: 677693-001TBAPhotos via SA.
