More good looks today of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Low “Sprite,” release date slated for sometime in July. The shoe features a vibrant “treasure blue” upper, contrasted by a white midsole and Swoosh and volt on the outsole and inner-lining as well as in the Max Air unit. Hit the jump for a few more looks, and stick with NikeBlog for a more specific LeBron 8 “Sprite” release date. The LeBron 11 was another commercial success for the Swoosh, even if LeBron James himself didn’t wear it as often as he has past signature models. All the more reason to start anticipating the King’s next shoe; a shoe we get our first look at today. Behold — the Nike LeBron 12!There’s still plenty of information we’ll need to gather, but here’s one thing I do know: this is absolutely the LeBron 12, no ambiguity about it. It was always expected to be a big departure from the norm for LeBron, and these first photos only bear that out.The upper is stripped down and streamlined, with the usual Posite, Hyperfuse and mesh replaced instead with composite mesh and what may even be some manner of performance knit, a la Flyknit or the like. Some kind of cables — Dynamic Flywire or perhaps Magwire — reinforce the foot and sync up through the laces, and the outsole employs bottom-loaded Zoom Air units for explosive cushioning. It’s still very early, so stay tuned for details, but let me reiterate that the legitimacy of the design has been confirmed: You’re looking at the Nike LeBron 12.Photos via Kicks or Die.
I’m not exactly sure what the relationship is between Seth MacFarlane and Nike, but it has to be something. The former has included LeBron James and the Nike LeBron 8 yet again in an animated short, and gain MacFarlane animates the shoe in pretty realistic detail, and never in a negative light. So if anyone wants to leave a comment confirming that MacFarlane is the newest pitchman for Nike or something, please do.
