We gave you a little background on the shoe several weeks back, but we’ll revisit it a bit now.Aesthetically and allegorically, the LeBron X is inspired by the diamond, namely the creation and the object’s beauty. The confluence of heat, time and pressure create diamonds, and those are the same things that have shaped LeBron himself and determined the kind of player he’s become. As LeBron was once a raw young player, a diamond starts as a dull rock, slowly taking shape and gaining clarity as time passes. Each colorway of the shoe will take the diamond metaphor a step further. For example, the “Blue Diamond” colorway represents the tint that diamonds get when interacting with electricity, just as LeBron’s game is electric. Meanwhile the “Cutting Jade” edition takes inspiration from the Chinese art of cutting jade with diamonds, and the “Carbon” colorway parallels the early stage of a soon-to-be diamond.Beyond the looks and unique story of the shoe, it’s also the most innovative, technologically-advanced Nike Basketball model of all time. Hyperfuse comprises much of the upper, drastically reducing weight without compromising stability and form, while Flywire adds lightweight lockdown and an adaptive fit.Phylon through the midsole offers lightweight cushioning, an idea that’s doubled down by the full-length visible Nike Zoom Air unit, which also provides an ultra-responsive ride. And of course, this is the first Nike Basketball signature shoe to incorporate Nike , bringing an impressive level of record-keeping, social features and motivations to certain editions of the LeBron X .#gallery-1 {margin: auto;}#gallery-1 .gallery-item {float: left;margin-top: 10px;text-align: center;width: 33%;}#gallery-1 img {border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;}#gallery-1 .gallery-caption {margin-left: 0;}/* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */Nike LeBron X ‘Cutting Jade’Nike LeBron X Black/RedNike LeBron X ‘Blue Diamond’Nike LeBron X ‘Cutting Jade’Nike LeBron X Black/RedNike LeBron X ‘Blue Diamond’Nike LeBron X ‘Cutting Jade’Nike LeBron X Black/RedNike LeBron XNike LeBron X ‘Cutting Jade’ Previous story Nike Flight One Black/Black | Now AvailableNext story Video: ‘Nike Introduces the LeBron X’Related PostsWatch: DJ Qualls and his “$5000” LeBron XFebruary 26, 2014Nike LeBron X Low REPTILE Releases in Two DaysOctober 8, 2013Nike LeBron X Low REPTILE Release DateOctober 1, 2013Honey Nut Cheerios x Nike LeBron X MUST BE THE HONEYSeptember 3, 2013FacebookSearch NikeBlog.comRecent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!Recent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!MIssionTo provide the most up to date news, images, and opinions on today's top sneaker company.FIND ARTICLESHomeAboutAdvertise on NBContactPrivacyTwitterFacebookRSSNikeBlog.com is not affiliated with the Nike, Inc. brand in any way, shape, or form. This is our first GOOD look at the shoes and I think the response has to be … underwhelming. Certainly not a bad shoe, but this white/red model features the standard crisscrossing flywire that we typically see—as opposed to the pinstripe style flywire we saw yesterday—and that we originally saw on the first glimpses at the Air Max LeBron VII, and it just makes the already familiar silhouette look A LOT like the Nike Hyperize. Although it’s important to keep in mind that the shoe could still change before release, and the white/red model we saw yesterday looks very different thanks to that woven side. All in all the Nike Air Max LeBron VII is a pretty decent shoe and I’m sure it will do quite well, but you don’t expect Nike to make their most popular signature line so similar to what will surely be their most popular standard basektball shoe next year. I guess all in all it’s about performance on the court and I’m sure this will excel, it just probably won’t have the same off-the-court presence of past shoes.
